Price From: £40.50 to include a tour of St Dominic’s Brewery, learning about its rich history and the craft brewing process together with a 3-course set lunch in the restaurant, paired with a flight of beers and coffee.
About: Step back in time and explore the fascinating history of St Dominic’s micro-brewery, nestled within the historic Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle, a Dominican friary dating back to 1239. Housed in the Chapter House, where friars once gathered for readings, discussions, and community tasks, this unique brewery blends centuries of history with the craft of modern brewing. After King Henry VIII's dissolution of the friary in 1536, the Chapter House became the meeting place for the Bakers and Brewer’s Guild—a tradition that Blackfriars proudly revives today.
Join an exclusive tour of St Dominic’s Brewery and immerse yourself in the art of craft brewing while uncovering the deep historical roots of this special location. Complete your experience with a delicious 3-course set lunch at Blackfriars Restaurant, perfectly paired with a flight of house-brewed beers and finished with freshly brewed coffee.
TIMES: 11.30am, Mondays, Tuesday & Wednesdays (subject to availability and excluding dates 25 Nov-31 December 2024 and 24 November- 31 December 2025).
