    Price from: £20

    Sunday 28 June, 2026

    About:

Gather around the table and discover the incredible variety of wild herbs, and how they can be used to create delicious teas.

Hosted at the historic St. Matthew's Wellness Centre in Prudhoe, we'll be celebrating the wonderful floral flavours of Summer, and working with wild flowers and herbs to create delicious and refreshing drinks which can benefit us in both body and mind. The majority of the ingredients will be seasonal and easy to find in your own local area, and we will cover in detail how you can recreate your own blends at home. Herbal teas are an easy way to make use of your dried herbs, and a wonderful way of expanding your knowledge of wild edibles, so come and immerse yourself in the art of herbal tea blending and discover how to preserve those floral notes of Summer.

    What to Expect?

🌱Learn what it means to forage, how we can act sustainably when out and about and why it's important.

🌱How to forage for wild herbs, and how to prepare and store those herbs for making tea. We will be focusing on around 6-10 wild herbs which may include a mix of plants, flowers and trees.

🌱Discover the ways in which herbal teas can be beneficial to us, and learn how to use these herbs to promote wellness, and to help you ease into relaxation and sleep.

🌱Learn how to brew wild teas and blend different herbs together to craft your own tea blends.

🌱Enjoy the taste of several different wild teas, gathered and prepared by Gemma.

    What to Bring?

Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way.

    Further Information

As you turn off front street on to South Road, you’ll see St Matt’s on the island straight ahead. It looks like an old church. On the approach there is free public car park on Fairview on the right. This is only a 30 second walk up to the clinic. There is also street parking on the right of our centre that is free too. It’s a one-way system around the island that St Matthew’s sits on: you would drive past the centre and turn right to access this road. Please be mindful of our neighbours and ensure that you don’t obstruct pavements or drives.

    The Cramlington Forager

Welcome to The Cramlington Forager, where Gemma, a seasoned foraging guide based in Cramlington, Northumberland, invites enthusiasts to delve into the sustainable practice of foraging. Born from a lifelong passion that started with childhood blackberry picking adventures, The Cramlington Forager was established to extend the joys and lessons of foraging to the local community.

Launched in 2021, the business challenges the idea that one must be nestled deep in the countryside to engage in foraging. Northumberland’s rich tapestry of breathtaking landscapes, woodlands, coastlines, and even urban parks, offers abundant foraging opportunities that are often surprising and rewarding.

The Cramlington Forager is committed to promoting the use of local green spaces, highlighting their critical role as natural havens for both wildlife and humans. Through foraging, people gain unique insights into nature's secrets, from seasonal changes to emerging flora, enhancing their understanding and commitment to environmental stewardship.

Gemma shares her extensive knowledge through social media, a blog that features tips on identifying wild foods safely, sustainable foraging techniques, and recipes using wild ingredients. Aligned with the natural cycles, her practices emphasize the health benefits of living in harmony with the seasons.

Additionally, Gemma contributes to community projects like 'The Friends of Doddington Wood' and actively participates in the Cramlington WI as a WI Climate Ambassador. In 2024, The Cramlington Forager proudly partners with Visit Northumberland, aiming to showcase the region's natural beauty and vibrant culture.
