How to enjoy Spring in North East England
As we approach Spring, and (fingers crossed) some warmer weather, it’s the perfect opportunity to take up a new skill or hobby with New Adventures.
Why not try your hand at canoeing, connect with nature and gaze at the landscape from the water, you may even spot some wildlife such as herons, kingfisher and otters! Paddle your canoe on an idyllic part of the River Tyne, you will begin underneath the arches of Hexham Bridge, built in 1793, and head upstream on flat water. The boats are open Canadian canoes which seat 3 people, an ideal and unique group activity!
To continue with the water sports theme, try adult surfing lessons, a great way to progress from a total beginner to an intermediate surfer. During these lessons, you will be taught water safety, how to stand up when you are ready, and how to turn/manoeuvre the board. Set on the iconic Tynemouth coastline, there is ample opportunity for you to soak up the views as well as the waves. Run by Tynemouth Surf Co., the business was voted as ‘Best Surf School in the UK’ in 2017 at the Pro Surf Tour Awards, so you know you’re in safe hands.
For something a little tamer, develop your cookery skills with a cookery class at Blackfriars. New Adventures has lots of options available including French, Mexican, Thai, Caribbean, Vietnamese and lots more! This is a perfect way to try new cuisines as well as learn how to make delicious and iconic recipes to impress your friends and family. With vegan and vegetarian courses available, it makes these classes accessible to all – the cookery classes are relaxed, informative and fun and are specially designed by the teaching chefs to give you skills and confidence in the kitchen.
